The U.S. Navy awarded Lockheed Martin a $150 million contract, with options worth up to $942.8 million, for the development, manufacture and delivery of two high power laser weapon systems, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and counter-Unmanned Aerial System (counter-UAS) capabilities, by fiscal year 2020. With the High Energy Laser and Integrated Optical-dazzler with Surveillance (HELIOS) system, Lockheed Martin will help the Navy take a major step forward in its goal to field laser weapon systems aboard surface ships.

Admiral Sir Philip Jones, Royal Navy First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff, announced that one of the new Type 26 frigates will be named HMS Cardiff. The third to be named in the City Class of eight brand new, cutting-edge, anti-submarine warfare frigates, HMS Cardiff will provide advanced protection for the likes of the UK’s nuclear deterrent and Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers.

The Dagdiesel enterprise in Dagestan will supply to the Russian Navy 73 UET-1 torpedoes by 2023. A corresponding contract was signed by head of the procurement department of the Defense Ministry Rear Admiral Andrey Vernigora and Dagdiesel CEO Raul Ilyasov, the Defense Ministry said.
