"The business call began on April 13. The sailors (of the frigate Bangpakong and the frigate Naresuan) and students of Royal Thai Navy schools met Admiral Sergey Avakyants, the Pacific Fleet commander," it said.

The Russian R-14 missile boat escorted the Thai frigates to the fringe of the Russian territorial waters where the Thai frigates and Russian warships drilled joint tactical manoeuvres and trained to establish communication. Later on, the Russian and Thai warships held a special parting ceremony in the Sea of Japan. This is part of the Russian programme that aims to reinforce the partnerships between Russia and Asian countries.
