The German government has announced its intention to select Damen as the main contractor, together with partners Blohm + Voss and Thales, for supplying at least four Multi-Purpose Combat Ship MKS 180 frigates to the German Navy. The Dutch naval shipbuilder is extremely proud of, and satisfied with, the result of the evaluation process announced today by the German Government, though of course awaits parliamentary approval in Germany.

The Defense Industry Presidency announced that the second of the new SAT boats developed for the transfer of the Underwater Attack (SAT) teams to the operation area will be delivered this year. Head of Defense Industry Dr İsmail Demir made investigations at Yonca-Onuk shipyard where SAT boats were produced. Professor Dr İsmail Demir was welcomed by Şakir Yılmaztürk, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Yonca-Onuk Shipyard.

OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a strategic partnership with PGZ Stocznia Wojenna Shipyard (PGZ SW), located in Gdynia, Poland to provide Integrated Navigation and Tactical Systems (INTS) to the Polish Navy. Its first contract is for the Kormoran program, vessels two and three (ORPs ‘Albatros’ and ‘Mewa’).

Defense Minister issued an order to implement information gathering operation in the Middle East. Japan Self Defense Forces will conduct the operation by deploying MSDF destroyer Takanami and leveraging DAPE P-3C patrol aircraft to ensure the safety of navigation for Japan-affiliated vessels.

On January 10th, 2020, the Savunma Sanayii Başkanlığı (SSB) (Presidency of Defence Industries) released an official image of how the Barbaros class frigates would look like after the planned upgrade. More specifically, this is a concept of how the ship could look like if the Turkish Navy will order a heavy modernization of the ships.

Peraton has received four U.S. Navy Unmanned Maritime Systems Support (UMSS) task orders valued at $27.45M. The four task orders are all recompetes awarded separately since August, with the latest in the series—a task order to provide Enhanced Software Support—recently issued through the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific in San Diego, CA. Peraton continues to provide its expertise and professionalism while maintaining cost and schedule on all UMSS task orders.

Boeing is awarded a $42,297,380 modification (P000163) to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive-firm target, firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract (N00019-14-C-0067). This modification exercises an option for integrated logistics services and site activation support of P-8A Poseidon aircraft for the Navy and the government of Australia.
