According to information published by the Russian press agency TASS on November 16, 2020, the 17th Project 03160 Raptor-class patrol boat has been put into operation with the Russian Navy on the order of Navy Commander-in-Chief Admiral Nikolai Yevmenov, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press office said.

“Project 03160 patrol boats have proved their effectiveness during operations carried out by the Navy. Their maneuverability and speed have brought the boat fleet to a qualitatively new level,” Yevmenov said.
The flag-raising ceremony took place at the Pella Shipyard in St. Petersburg in northwest Russia. Project 03160 patrol boats are built by the Pella Shipyard for the Navy to conduct patrolling in assigned sea areas. In July 2020, the Baltic Fleet received the 15th and 16th Raptor-class boats.
The Project 03160 boat is designed to patrol coastal areas, carry out search and rescue operations, intercept small targets and defend ports and bases from small surface and aerial threats. It is armed with a 14.5mm remotely-operated and stabilized optical-electronic module with a detection range of 3,000 meters and precision fire to a distance of 2,000 meters, as well as two Pecheneg 6P41 7.62mm machineguns.
The boat has armor plates with Class Br4 bullet resistance and portholes with 39mm bullet-proof glass. She has a displacement of 23 tons, a length of 16.9 meters, a width of 4.1 meters, a draft of 0.9 meters and a speed of 50 knots. The boat’s range is 300 miles and its crew totals two or three. Special personnel is 20 men.
The boat can operate in coastal sea areas, straits and river outlets during the ice-free navigation period both in the daytime and at night 100 miles away from the home station.
