According to information released by the Russian press agency TASS on October 9, 2020, the Admiral Grigorovich Project 11356Р/М frigate of the Russian Navy trained to launch Kalibr cruise missile at an adversary warship in the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

“The frigate detected and classified a conditional target at sea as an adversary warship heading to the Crimean Peninsula. The commander ordered to approach the conditional adversary and compel it to change the course,” it said.
The adversary attacked the approaching Admiral Grigorovich with missiles. The frigate repelled the attack with Shtil-1 air defense and then electronically fired a Kalibr missile to destroy the warship.
The Admiral Grigorovich-class, Russian designation Project 11356Р/М, is a class of frigates built by the Yantar Shipyard in Kaliningrad for the Russian Navy and Indian Navy. The lead ship, Admiral Grigorovich, was laid down on 18 December 2010 and was commissioned on 11 March 2016. As part of the deal signed on 20 October 2018 for delivery of Admiral Butakov and Admiral Istomin frigates to the Indian Navy, Rosoboronexport and Goa Shipyard have signed an additional contract for two more Admiral Grigorovich-class frigates to be license-built at Goa Shipyard in India.
The Admiral Grigorovich Class incorporates a stealthy hull design developed by the Severnoye Design Bureau. The hull and superstructures were designed to have low radar, acoustic and infrared signatures. She has an overall length of 24.8 m and a width of 15.2 m with a crew of 220 sailors. The draught at full-load displacement is 4.6 m, while the standard and full-load displacements of the vessel are 3,350 t and 3,860 t respectively.
The Admiral Grigorovich is armed with one 100 mm A-190 Arsenal naval gun, eight UKSK VLS Vertical Launching Systems cells for Kalibr, Oniks or Zircon anti-ship cruise missiles, Brahmos for India variants, 24 3S90M VLS cells for 9M317M surface-to-air-missiles, two AK-630 CIWS (Close-In Weapon System), eight Igla-S or Verba surface-to-air missiles, two double 533 mm torpedo tubes and one RBU-6000 rocket launcher.
The Admiral Grigorovich frigate is powered by a combined gas and gas (COGAG) propulsion system, integrating two DS-71 cruise turbines developing 8,450 shp. (6,300 kW) and two DT-59 boost turbines developing 22,000 shp. (16,000 kW). The ship can sail at a maximum speed of 30 kt and a cruising range of 5,000 nmi. The vessel can continuously operate for 30 days.
The Kalibr is a family of Russian surface ship/submarine-launched and airborne anti-ship and coastal anti-ship (AShM), land attack cruise missiles (LACM) and anti-submarine missiles developed by the Novator Design Bureau (OKB-8).
