On 28th August, Damen Shipyards Cape Town (DSCT) held a keel-laying. The keel-laying was for the second of three Multi-Mission Inshore Patrol Vessels (MMIPV) that DSCT is building for the South African Navy’s Project BIRO. The inspection was a unique event, planned to ensure the well-being of delegates during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. As well as stringent safety measures on location, physical attendance was reduced to a minimum, with the majority attending remotely with digital conference facilities.

Recently, the Eastern Theater Command of the People Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) launched a practical training composed of Chaozhou and Quanzhou corvettes. The naval gun turned quickly and the radar was high. Following the commander's order, a round of shells roared out, accurately hitting a maritime target several nautical miles away.

CONTROP Precision Technologies Ltd.- a company specializing in the field of electro-optics and IR defense and homeland security solutions – has been selected to supply iSea-25HD observation systems for installation on the new ships under construction at L&T’s shipyards in India, and vessels being built for the Vietnamese Border Guard, by Hong Ha shipyards in Vietnam. The systems will be delivered during 2020 and 2021.
