Sokolskaya shipyard successfully completes construction of new project 1388NZT torpedo boats for Russian Navy


According to BPMD live journal, Sokolskaya Shipyard JSC (Nizhny Novgorod Region) has completed the construction of the head torpedo boat TL-2195 of project 1388N3T (serial number 451) for the Russian Navy.

After passing the factory sea trials in the nearest river waters in August, on September 8, 2020, the TL-2195 torpedoes, accompanied by two tugs, were started to be towed along the inland waterways to Novorossiysk to the place of the State tests and delivery to the fleet. The head torpedo boat TL-2195 of project 1388N3T (serial number 451) built by Sokolskaya Shipyard for the Russian Navy.

It is known that the project 1388N3T boat has a length of 48.9 m, a width of 9 m, a draft of 2.62 m. The twin-shaft power plant includes two Chinese diesel engines CHD622V20 with a capacity of 3945 hp each, full speed 20 knots, cruising range at full speed 1000 miles, autonomy 10 days. The crew is 14 people. A retractable rudder-propeller and a bow thruster are installed; there is a crane for lifting torpedoes. There is no armament.

Sokolskaya Shipyard is also building project 436bis target vessels for the Ministry of Defense of Russia, having delivered 10 units from 2006 to 2019 (serial numbers from 014 to 023), has a contract for the construction of another target ship (serial number 024), with delivery to 2021.
