The ship’s crew activated shipborne electronic warfare systems and used active and passive countermeasures. The crewmen fired the Kortik (CADS-N-1 Kashtan) anti-aircraft missile/gun system to eliminate the simulated enemy’s aerial targets when they were within the engagement distance.

The Yaroslav Mudry is a Neustrashimy-class frigate, Russian designation Project 11540 Yastreb in service with the Russian Navy. The ship is designed to conduct anti-submarine warfare (ASW) operations. Two ships of this class are currently in service with the Russian navy.
