The 4,000-ton "Hsinchu," named after a county in southern Taiwan, is 125 meters long, 16.5 meters wide, and can travel up to 10,000 nautical miles, with a maximum speed of 24 knots.

It is equipped with three sets of water cannons with a range of 120 meters.

The massive frigate can serve as a medical support vessel for humanitarian missions during peacetime and wartime, as it has hospital facilities such as operating theaters and isolation wards.

The Chiayi-class patrol vessel is a heavy patrol vessel of the Coast Guard Administration of Taiwan. Four ships are planned. All four are planned to be constructed by CSBC Corporation, Taiwan.

The class has a helipad and hangar which can accommodate a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. It is equipped with a medical center with a negative pressure area, a surgery suite, and an x-ray facility.

The Sikorsky UH-60 Black Hawk is a four-blade, twin-engine, medium-lift utility military helicopter manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft. Sikorsky submitted the S-70 design for the United States Army's Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft System (UTTAS) competition in 1972.
