HNLMS Dolfijn (S808) is a Walrus-class submarine of the Royal Netherlands Navy. She entered service in 1993 as the third submarine of the Walrus class, after HNLMS Walrus and HNLMS Zeeleeuw.

Dolfijn has been deployed both for naval exercises and in combat operations around the world. Furthermore, the submarine plays an important role by performing intelligence operations.

The class of submarines has a length of 67.73 meters, a beam of 8.4 meters (28 ft), and a draft of 6.6 meters (22 ft). She can reach a top speed of 13 knots (24 km/h) surfaced and 20 knots (37 km/h) submerged.

The design of the Walrus-class ships is based on the basic hull line of the Zwaardvis-class submarines. She has a similar outline and dimensions to that of her predecessor Zwaardvis.

The Walrus-class submarine boasts a twin-hull configuration in a teardrop shape to achieve increased underwater speed and a smaller acoustic signature.

It is powered by diesel-electric propulsion systems. There are three SEMPT-Pielstick 12-cylinder and four-stroke diesel engines. The lone main motor is an electric motor is manufactured by Holec.
