Admiral Makarov is an Admiral Grigorovich-class frigate of the Russian Navy, part of the Black Sea Fleet based at Sevastopol. She was laid down at the Yantar Shipyard in February 2012 and commissioned on 25 December 2017.

The Admiral Grigorovich-class (Project 11356) frigates are being built for the Russian Navy to provide modern anti-submarine warfare and anti-air warfare capability to the fleet and replace the ageing Burevestnik-class frigates.

It was part of the Russian Navy's plan in the early 2000s to recapitalize the surface fleet and expand global operations. This has been in part reversed by the 2018 plan that now seeks to focus on smaller ships and submarines.

The length of the class is 124.8 meters (409 ft 5 in), a beam of 15.2 meters (49 ft 10 in), and a draught of 4.2 m (13 ft 9 in). She has a displacement of 3,620 tons.

The combined gas and gas (COGAG) propulsion system, integrating two cruise turbines and two boost turbines, powers the Admiral Grigorovich Class. The main propulsion plant generates a maximum power output of 56 000hp. The propulsion system ensures a maximum speed of 30 knots and cruising range of 5000 nmi. The vessel can continuously operate for 30 days.
