During the test, a new production representative tactical fuel tank and fuel delivery system were integrated with the TJ-150 turbojet engine on a modified JSOW C-1 air vehicle.

General Dynamics Completes Successful Critical Design Review for Knifefish SMCM UUV
 
General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has successfully completed the critical design review for Knifefish, the surface-mine countermeasure unmanned undersea vehicle (SMCM UUV), one month ahead of schedule. The General Dynamics team will now begin the development of the system hardware and software to integrate the approved design via the fabrication of three engineering development modules. Knifefish is an essential component of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) mine countermeasure (MCM) mission package, providing U.S. Navy commanders and sailors with enhanced mine-hunting capabilities.

The largest exercise of its kind in the region, IMCMEX 13 will exercise a wide spectrum of defensive operations designed to protect international commerce and trade; mine countermeasures, maritime security operations (MSO) and maritime infrastructure protection (MIP).

Virginia Tech College of Engineering researchers have unveiled a life-like, autonomous robotic jellyfish the size and weight of a grown man, 5 foot 7 inches in length and weighing 170 pounds. The prototype robot, nicknamed Cyro, is a larger model of a robotic jellyfish the same team – headed by Shashank Priya of Blacksburg, Va., and professor of mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech – unveiled in 2012. The earlier robot, dubbed RoboJelly, is roughly the size of a man’s hand, and typical of jellyfish found along beaches.

Bluefin Robotics, a leading provider of Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs), announced that the company has successfully completed deep-water testing of a specialized UUV for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The system was developed under a Phase II subcontract from Applied Physical Sciences Corp. (APS) for the Deep Sea Operations (DSOP) Program.

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) was awarded a $155.6 million contract to manufacture Block 2 Rolling Airframe Missiles for delivery to the German navy. It represents the largest single RAM award by Germany. The contract was awarded in Raytheon's first quarter of 2013.
Lockheed Martin recently completed a series of successful demonstrations of its Gyrocam 15-inch Dual Sensor and 15-inch Triple Sensor in a realistic military maritime environment. The demonstration was conducted as part of a cooperative research and development effort with the Stiletto Maritime Demonstration Program. That program was established to help accelerate the delivery of innovative maritime technologies across all armed services.
