Baglietto to exhibit at Euronaval 2012

Baglietto has a great military tradition. Starting from 1916, the shipyard supplied the Italian Navy with the MAS PT boat (Motobarca Armata SVAN) and with seaplanes. MAS was a small and fast craft used as a means of attack by the Royal Marines during the First and the Second World War. After the Second World War the naval experience continued with the construction of wooden and aluminium coast guard cutters.

Around 1930 the shipyard broke many world speed records thanks to the construction of racing motorboats; in 1938 the sports version of MAS set the world speed record of 3-6-9-12 miles. During the 1950s the large facilities and the long experience in building naval vessels led Baglietto to start the construction of the first production models of motor yachts.

Nowadays Baglietto has started a new era with the acquisition in January 2012 by the Gavio Group whose main business move from the private and public building construction to the motorway operations and management. In the next 4 years the only site of La Spezia will become a nautical pole for the construction of luxury yachts, military boats and for refitting activities.
