Vietnam to Buy Second Batch of Gepard 3.9 class stealth frigates from Zelenodolsk shipyard
 
INTERFAX.RU - "Rosoboronexport" and Gorky Zelenodolsk plant successfully completed a contract to supply two "Gepard" ships to Vietnam and signed another contract for two such ships.

"The contract is made on time. In the Vietnamese side were no comments. The first "Gepard" was raised last year, the second - in this. He noted that if the first two frigates such as "Gepard" missile guided frigates ships, then the latter will be more ships with ASW-role. According to Rudenko, other countries in Southeast Asia interest in these ships exhibit.

"Yesterday, here at the show we had a meeting with Defense Minister of Cambodia. They asked a couple of ships," - said Rudenko.

French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian detailed the naval part of the update to the French Military Planning Law today on a naval base in Brittany. The French Navy will receive 8 FREMM Frigates in total (while 11 of them were originally planned) and a new generation of frigates: the FTI (Frégate de Taille Intermédiaire or Midsize Frigate) which will start being delivered in 2023 for a total of 5 hulls.
