The Admiral Gorshkov-class (Project 22350) frigate is designed to fight surface warships and submarines in coastal area as well as in the high seas and repel air attacks both independently and within a formation.

The Admiral Gorshkov-class (Project 22350) frigate is designed to fight surface warships and submarines in coastal area as well as in the high seas and repel air attacks both independently and within a formation.

The first ship of the class "Admiral Gorshkov" was laid in February 2006 and launched in October 2010. There are currently 3 other frigates of the class under construction at the St Petersburg shipyard: "Fleet Admiral Kasatonov" laid down in November 2009, "Admiral Golovko" laid down in February 2012 and "Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov" laid down in November 2013.

Design
The Admiral Gorshkov class is designed as a multirole surface combatant to replace the soviet era Krivak classes of frigates. The design is based on the Talwar / Krivak IV Class frigate developed by Russia for the Indian Navy and incorporates some stealth features such as use of alloy and specific hull and superstructure shapes to lower radar cross section. The Project 22350 frigate is flush-decked and has a three-island superstructure, a tower mast and a steel tube.
Aviation Facilities
The Admiral Gorshkov class have spacious landing deck and hangar for a 10 to 12 ton helicopter (Ka-26 or Ka-31).
