Shipyard OCEA showcases its new range of OPV at Euronaval 2014
OCEA, one of the French leaders in aluminum shipbuilding, is presenting
its product during EURONAVAL 2014. The new OPV 190 and OPV 270 are highlighted.
These ships are completing the OCEA's catalogue. For the new OPV family,
OCEA has been able to draw on a wealth of experience spanning three
decades in the design, manufacture, delivery and support worldwide of
aluminium fast patrol boats and offshore patrol vessels.
OCEA Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) 190 at EURONAVAL 2014
With an overall
boat portfolio that features more than 15 different models, ranging
from 5.5 to 85 meters in length, OCEA has a proven track record in
its field. This widely-recognized expertise in design and choice of
materials also enables OCEA to provide OPVs with a premium level of
specification in terms of equipment and finishing at a competitive
price.
At EURONAVAL 2014, OCEA exposes two models of OPV: the OPV 190 and
the OPV 270. OPV 190 is a 58 m (190 m) long aluminum made ship. It
carries 30 crew members and can take 24 passengers on board. It can
travel over 4.000 to 5.000 km at 12 knots and its maximum speed, which
depends of the load, can reach 30 knots. its endurance is about 21
days.
The missions it can lead are numerous: Law Enforcement operations,
Exclusive Economic Zone surveillance, anti smuggling, illegal immigration
control, search and rescue, control at sea, diving operations, disaster
relief.
OCEA Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) 270 at EURONAVAL 2014
OPV 270 is a 83 m
(270 ft) long marine aluminum made ship. It carries 44 crew members
and can take 3 to 6 VIP passengers on board, in addition to 20 ordinary
passengers. 35 survivors can also be taken on board. It can travel over
4.500 to 8.000 km at 15 knots and its maximum speed, which depends of
the load, can reach 26 knots. its endurance is from 30 to 45 days.
The missions it can lead are more numerous: Law Enforcement operations,
Exclusive Economic Zone surveillance, anti smuggling, illegal immigration
control, illegal fishing control, search and rescue, surveillance and
control at sea, fight against pollution, diving operations, disaster
relief.
