Fincantieri Lays Keel of New LSS – Logistic Support Ship for Italian Navy
 
The keel laying ceremony of the Logistic Support Ship (LSS) was held today at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Riva Trigoso (Sestri Levante, Genoa). Construction works continue on the first unit of the renewal plan of the Italian Navy’s fleet, which has been commissioned to Fincantieri. The vessel will be delivered in 2019.

Chinese Navy (PLAN) Commissioned its Fourth Type 052D Kunming-class Destroyer "Yinchuan"
 
According to the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) the fourth Type 052D (NATO reporting name Luyang III class) destroyer Yinchuan (hull number 175), was just commissioned on July 12 with China's South Sea Fleet. The vessel is now homeported at Yulin Naval Base located in the Yalong Bay (city of Sanya) on Hainan island.
According to the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) the fourth Type 052D (NATO reporting name Luyang III class) destroyer Yinchuan (hull number 175), was just commissioned on July 12 with China's South Sea Fleet. India reports several troubles with the performance and maintenance of its MiG-29K/KUB (NATO reporting name: Fulcrum-F) naval multirole fighters, as well as with Vikramaditya (former "Admiral Gorshkov"/Kiev-class) aircraft carrier. The fighters built by Russia`s RSK-MiG corporation (a subsidiary of the United Aircraft Corporation, Russian acronym: OAK) come short of Indian Navy`s (IN) requirements, a source in India`s Defense Ministry said.

North Korea Launched a KN-11 SLBM From its Sinpo-Class Ballistic Missile Submarine
 
North Korea fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) off its east coast on Saturday, but the missile failed in its initial flight stage, according to Yonhap News Agency citing South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). The missile was fired from waters southeast of the coastal port city of Sinpo, South Hamgyong Province, at around 11:30 a.m., according to the military.

nEUROn goes naval – UCAV demonstrator flight tested alongside French Navy Aircraft Carrier
 
The nEUROn unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) demonstrator made several low altitude vertical passes above French Navy (Marine Nationale) aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. These tests which took place July 6, 2016 were conducted by the French Procurement Agency (DGA) in conjunction with the French Navy and Dassault Aviation. They are part of a test campaign which objective is to study the use of a UCAV in a naval environment involving several vessels of the French Navy.

Navy Command Headquarters Chief of Staff Vice Admiral Mei Chia-shu told a legislative committee session: “We plan to complete the design by 2019 and complete the construction by 2024.”

Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) delivered the first AN/SPY-6(V)
Raytheon Company delivered the first AN/SPY-6(V) Air and Missile Defense Radar array to the U.S. Navy’s Pacific Missile Range Facility in Hawaii ahead of schedule. The array is now being installed according to plan, in preparation for first radar light-off in early July. SPY-6(V) is the next-generation integrated air and ballistic missile defense radar for the U.S. Navy, filling a critical capability gap for the surface fleet.

Lockheed Martin Awarded Contract to Continue Victoria Class Submarine Fire Control Support
 
The Government of Canada has awarded Lockheed Martin a $14.5 million contract to provide long-term, full-spectrum support for the Submarine Fire Control System (SFCS) installed on all four Victoria-class submarines and land based team trainers. The scope of the contract will contain in service and field service support, obsolescence management, and technical investigations as requested by the Department of National Defence.

PZL-Swidnik developed and produced W-3RM Anakonda helicopter, which is in service of the Polish Navy. Polish seamen use six such machines and two W-3 helicopters in transport version.
