"Commander of the Pacific Fleet’s submarine forces Rear-Admiral Sergei Rekish congratulated the submarine’s crew on returning to the base," he added.

The Project 667BDR nuclear-powered submarine was laid down by the Sevmash Shipyard in Severodvinsk in north Russia on January 31, 1980. Before 2008, the submarine was part of Russia’s Northern Fleet. In September 2008, the submarine left the Northern Fleet to head for the Pacific Fleet’s naval base in Vilyuchinsk in Kamchatka. Since that time, the submarine has been operating within the Pacific Fleet’s submarine forces.
