Second Project 21300 Submarine Rescue Vessel Included into Russia's New Arms Program
 
The construction of the second rescue vessel of the Igor Belousov class has been included into the state armaments program for 2018-2027. The Navy expects it after 2023, Navy Deputy Commander-in-Chief for armaments Vice Admiral Viktor Bursuk said.

"It is in the new program, but at the second stage - from 2023 to 2028," he said.

Rescue vessel of project 21300 is designed to assist submarine crews in distress either on the seabed or on the surface, to supply air, power and rescue means to submarines and surface warships. The vessel can search for and inspect wrecked objects in an assigned area also within international rescue units. Its length is 97.8 meters, width - 17.2 meters, hull height - 10.6 meters, and displacement of 5037 tons. It can develop a speed of up to 15 knots. The crew is 100 men with additional 120 seats for the rescued (60 in decompression chambers).
