According to information published by the Russian press agency TASS, the upgraded Project 1155M Udaloy-class frigate 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' of the Russian Navy is completing its factory sea trials in the Sea of Japan, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“The crew of the ship and the representatives of the industry have begun testing the ship’s armament systems. The naval platform has conducted its first artillery firing against aerial and surface targets in the Peter the Great Gulf, employing the A-190 naval gun installed during the modernization and AK-630 30 mm close-in weapon systems. The torpedo armament of the ship has also been tested,” said the MoD.
The press department of the Pacific Fleet noted that on December 25 the 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' carried out the first firing of its Uran anti-ship missiles, which had been integrated into the ship’s armament suite during the upgrade process. The modernized naval platform was supported by the ships and naval aviation of the Pacific Fleet.
The Project 1155M large anti-submarine warfare ship 'Marshal Shaposhnikov' was laid down in 1983. During the modernization, it was qualified as a frigate. The upgrade has resulted in the integration of new artillery, Uran anti-ship missiles, and Kalibr cruise missiles.
The Project 1155M is powered by a Combined gas turbine and gas turbine (COGAG) propulsion system including two 36,000 hp GTA (13500 hp, 22500 hp M-8KF), 2 fixed pitch propellers, four 1250 kW turbine-type generators, and one 200 kW ADGR-200/1500 diesel-generator. The ship can reach a top speed of 35 kn (65 km/h; 40 mph) with a cruising range of 10,500 nmi (19,400 km; 12,100 mi) at 14 kn (26 km/h; 16 mph). She has a crew of 300 sailors.
The Project 1155M is armed with two AK-130 130 mm naval guns, eight SS-N-22 'Sunburn' anti-ship missiles, 64 VLS (Vertical Launching Systems) cells for SA-N-9 'Gauntlet' surface-to-air missiles, two Kashtan CIWS (Close-In Weapon Systems), eight 553 mm torpedo tubes for SS-N-16 'Stallion' anti-submarine missiles and two RBU-12000 anti-submarine rocket launchers.
