Black Sea Fleet small-size missile ship Vyshny Volochek is training use of missile weapons. According to the exercise, the ship’s crew repelled the air attack of the mock enemy, using the AK-630M-2 Duet anti-aircraft artillery system and launched an electronic missile strike using the Caliber-NK missile system.

During the training, the servicemen of the rocket-artillery warhead of the Vyshny Volochek practised an algorithm of actions for performing electronic launches on a surface target.

According to the exercise, the ship’s crew repelled the air attack of the mock enemy, using the AK-630M-2 Duet anti-aircraft artillery system and launched an electronic missile strike using the Caliber-NK missile system.

The training took place at the permanent deployment centre of the Black Sea Fleet in accordance with the combat training plan.

The Project 21631 corvette is armed with the Kalibr (SS-N-27 Sizzler) missile system containing missiles in the 3S14 vertical launcher with eight launch tubes. The Kalibr system attacks seaborne and land-based targets, using the 3M-54 (SS-N-27 Sizzler) and 3M-14 (SS-N-30) cruise missiles, respectively. The Project 21631 corvette has the A-190 100mm gun, the AK-630-2 Duet small-calibre antiaircraft artillery system and 3M-47 Gibka launchers as well.

The ship has a length of 75 m, a displacement of 949 t, a speed of 25 kt and a cruising range of 2,500 nautical miles. Its cruising capacity is up to ten days. Its crew totals 52.
