The Russian Navy Black Sea fleet will get the Retivy Steregushchiy-class corvette of project 20380 by the end of the year. It was built with stealth technologies and can engage in patrol, protect caravans of vessels and defend them against air and underwater strikes. Experts believe the Retivy will reinforce the strategic southern direction, the Izvestia daily writes.

The vessel was launched on 21 July 2019 from Austal USA in Mobile, Alabama.

Damen Shipyards Group has signed an agreement with Korean yard Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) to deliver a complete components package. The package includes all equipment for oil recovery operations as well as a complete dredging installation. The multi-purpose vessel will primarily act as an oil recovery vessel, and will undertake work as a hopper dredger when not tending to emergencies.

This particular region hosts a large number of key strategic Industrial stakeholders such as Airbus or Naval Group. This tour intended to promote, support and publicize the French Government comprehensive National plan for the “restart and relaunch of Industrial activities” in the French territory. The Minister for the Armed Forces leads the Defence Industry folder of the plan, quite naturally.
