Japan Coast Guard conducts exercise with Indonesia near Singapore

The Tsugaru-class patrol vessel is a class of PLH type patrol vessels of the Japan Coast Guard.

These ships are not only helicopter platforms but also command ships, so an operations room, the OIC section, is installed adjacent to the bridge. The ability of Command and control is improved sequentially.

The class has a length of 105.4 m, a beam of 14.6 m, and a draught of 8 m. They have a full displacement of 4,037 tonnes and can reach a top speed of 23 knots (43km/h; 26 mph).

The Tsugaru-class patrol vessels are armed with one L/90 Oerlikon 35 mm gun and one JM61-M 20 mm rotary cannon.
