MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS-DEFENSE/. The second serial Project 22220 nuclear-powered icebreaker Ural being built on order of the Atomflot Company (part of the Rosatom state nuclear power corporation) is undergoing sea trials, the press office of the Baltic Shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) said.

On October 14, thyssenkrupp Marine Systems handed over the first-of-class MEKO  A-200 EN to the Navy of the Arab Republic of Egypt. A total of four ships were ordered, with the first three units produced in Germany and the fourth vessel built by Alexandria Shipyard in Egypt. At today’s ceremony in Bremerhaven, the frigate “AL-AZIZ” was accepted by the Egyptian Navy after only 38 months of the contract becoming effective.

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy recently conducted a full test for an amphibious transport group consisting of two Type 075 amphibious assault ships in the South China Sea, a move experts said on Sunday indicated that such a dual vessel group has achieved combat capability. It was earlier reported that the Ufa had submerged 190 meters deep in the Baltic Sea.

More than 11,000 personnel from NATO countries are participating in UK-led Exercise Joint Warrior. Taking place from 1 to 12 October, the biannual exercise includes defence against simulated attacks above, on, and below the water – extending from Cape Wrath and the Hebrides in the north, to the North Sea and the western Channel.

According to a PR published by Kongsberg Maritime on October 10, 2022, the firm is pleased to announce a contract award with Polish shipbuilder Remontowa Shipbuilding SA (RSB) to supply three shipsets of Kongsberg HUGIN AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) systems and related HiPAP positioning and communication systems for three newbuild warships for the Polish Navy.
