Set to take place under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, DIMDEX 2024 will be hosted and organised by Qatar Armed Forces. With a significant number of firms that attended DIMDEX 2022 already confirming their participation in the next edition, the three-day event will provide an internationally acclaimed platform for companies to showcase their capabilities and new products. With Qatar having embarked on a comprehensive program for the modernisation of its armed forces, event organisers expect the next edition to attract an
an unprecedented number of exhibitors.

Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi S. Al-Ansari, Chairman of DIMDEX, said: “The stupendous success of DIMDEX 2022 underscored, yet again, the pride of place that the event has on the international maritime defence and security calendar.

While we couldn’t be happier with the response that the event received from companies, both domestic and international, we anticipate an even bigger turnout in the next edition. Our decision to organise DIMDEX 2024 from the 4th to the 6th of March 2024 is based primarily on feedback from the international maritime defence and security community and takes into account their logistical convenience for participation.”

The only specialised maritime defence exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, DIMDEX has grown exponentially since its inaugural edition in 2008. The biennial event, which has earned a reputation for facilitating commercial success for exhibitors at a scale that is unmatched anywhere else in the world, also provides a platform for military cooperation and collaborative partnerships in the defence and security sector, as well as knowledge exchange at the highest levels between industry and government.

Over successive editions, DIMDEX has provided local and international companies with a chance to showcase the latest products, capabilities, and futuristic technologies in the presence of key decision-makers and prominent officials, thus amplifying chances of commercial success. As many as 32 contracts and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed during the previous edition of DIMDEX in which more than 200 companies from 20 countries showcased the latest in maritime defence and security. Agreements worth over USD 33 billion have been signed since the inaugural edition.

Among the other traditional highlights of the biennial event are the Middle East Naval Commanders’ Conference (MENC), in which global security experts, leading industry figures, and academics from around the world discuss ways to counter current and future threats to the maritime domain, and the visiting warships display at Hamad Port.
