This modification to the existing agreement (N0001919C0079) is intended to provide the Navy with 42 Maritime Strike Tomahawk Seeker (MST) suites. These suites will be part of the MST Low Rate Production Three and are designed to be integrated into Tactical Tomahawk Missiles as part of a recertification process.

Tomahawk missile Block V

Introduced in 2021, the Tomahawk Block V is a significant upgrade of the well-known Tomahawk missile series. Developed by defense company Raytheon, it offers enhanced navigation, improved in-flight targeting, and a longer range.

Two key variants include the Block Va, also known as the Maritime Strike Tomahawk (MST), and the Block Vb. The MST has the ability to engage moving sea-based targets, offering increased versatility for naval operations. The Block Vb variant, equipped with the Joint Multiple Effects Warhead System (JMEWS), allows for more effective penetration of hard, fortified targets.

As part of this modernization, Raytheon is extending the service life of existing missiles by 15 years. All Block IV Tomahawks are being upgraded to the Block V standard, while the older Block III missiles are being retired.

These enhancements in the Tomahawk missile series underline the continual evolution of missile technology, providing superior capabilities in modern warfare.
