Boris Koptev, the Chief Designer of torpedo weapons at the JSC "Concern "Sea Underwater Weapon - Gidropribor" consortium, commented, "It can target submarines, unmanned underwater vehicles, which is very relevant today, and surface ships. This torpedo is the most advanced, one of the best not only in our country but, I believe, internationally."

The torpedo, which is 220mm in caliber, varies in length from 2.1 to 2.4 meters and weighs between 100 and 140 kg. Its primary advantage is its compact size.

It can be launched from various platforms: submarines, surface ships, unmanned aerial and surface vehicles, including unmanned boats and helicopters. It can also be deployed from unequipped vessels, given they have a launch setup and a data input console for firing.

Koptev emphasized that the torpedo has been designed with an open architecture, making it easier to upgrade and enhance its tactical and technical characteristics in the future.

The testing phase for this compact torpedo is nearing completion, and "Hydrodevice" will soon be ready to commence its production.

Previously, during the "Army-2023" forum, Alexander Mikheev, the Director-General of Rosoboronexport, stated that Russia is upgrading approximately 50 new weapon systems based on the experience from specific military operations.
