The frigate is powered by a combined diesel and gas (CODAG) propulsion system that includes 2 10D49 cruise diesel engines with a total power output of 5,200 shaft horsepower (shp) and 2 M90FR boost gas turbines with a total power output of 27,500 shp. The total power output of the propulsion system is 65,000 shp, which allows the frigate to reach a maximum speed of 29.5 knots (54.6 km/h).

The frigate is equipped with a variety of sensors and processing systems, including air and surface search radars, a sonar, navigation radars, and electronic warfare systems. It has a complement of 210 crew members.

The armament of the frigate includes a 130 mm naval gun, 16 UKSK vertical launch system (VLS) cells for Kalibr, Oniks, Zircon anti-ship cruise missiles, 32 Redut VLS cells for surface-to-air missiles, 2 Palash close-in weapon systems (CIWS) with twin 30 mm rotary cannons, and torpedo tubes. The frigate can carry one Ka-27 series helicopter and has a helipad and a hangar for it.
