With its 75 cm diameter and available depth ratings of 1000 meters and 3000 meters, the HUGIN 1000 featured a modular three-section structure. The standardized aft and front sections, combined with one or two midsections, allowed for versatile configurations to accommodate various payload sensors.

These sensors included sidescan sonar, synthetic aperture sonar, multibeam echo sounder, sub-bottom profiler, fishery sonar, laser plankton counter, and more.

Powered by a pressure-tolerant lithium polymer battery, the HUGIN 1000 exhibited impressive endurance, capable of operating for approximately 24 hours at a speed of four knots, depending on payload configuration. The battery design facilitated air transportability, and special containers were provided for convenient transportation and mobilization.

With its state-of-the-art sensors and precise positioning capabilities, the HUGIN 1000 has revolutionized deep-water surveying, enabling enhanced efficiency and data quality in engineering major subsea developments.

Its ability to operate autonomously and at remote distances ensures the safety of personnel and mother vessels, making it an invaluable asset for naval applications, including mine countermeasures and rapid environmental assessment.

The HUGIN 1000 has demonstrated its versatility and adaptability in a wide range of environments, from arctic to tropical areas. Its field experience encompasses numerous major offshore oil and gas fields worldwide, where its stable payload sensor carrier has significantly improved survey efficiency and data precision.
