As part of the contract, Kraken is set to deliver its advanced KATFISH™ high-speed minehunting system, alongside a range of support and sustainment features such as training, spare parts, and operational backing.

As per the terms of this acquisition agreement, Kraken is scheduled to dispatch its KATFISH towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar, the Tentacle® Winch, and the Autonomous Launch and Recovery System (ALARS) in the second quarter of 2023.

The equipment will be installed on a vessel chosen by the client, marking Kraken’s debut KATFISH system sale in the Asia-Pacific region and extending the success story of KATFISH deliveries to various NATO navies.

The contract's award follows a successful KATFISH™ demonstration for the client in the first quarter of this year, where Kraken, in collaboration with a local survey firm, undertook a 200 km seabed survey, generating real-time ultra-high-resolution imagery and bathymetry of the seafloor along coastal waters.

About Katfish

Katfish is an advanced, high-speed seabed survey system, offering defense and commercial customers ultra-high resolution seabed imagery and bathymetry.

The acoustic imagery and bathymetry gathered by KATFISH systems equip customers with critical intelligence about subsea assets and infrastructure, such as subsea pipelines and fiber optic cables, along with crucial hydrographic information related to the safety of key maritime transit routes.

Kraken has successfully integrated KATFISH with various manned and unmanned vessels, providing both standalone turnkey seabed mapping and optional integration with customer's combat mission management systems.
