DSEI 2023: L3 Harris showcases MAST-13 Autonomous Surface Vehicle.

During the Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2023 event in London, L3 Harris introduced the MAST-13 Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV).

With a length of 13 meters, the MAST-13 features a design that incorporates twin diesel engines and waterjet propulsion, allowing it to navigate waters with an endurance of over 36 hours. The capabilities of this autonomous surface vehicle (ASV) extend beyond its external design.

The MAST-13 is fitted with a variety of sensors. The electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) pan-tilt-zoom camera, along with its radar and automated indication system (AIS), provides a broad scope of situational awareness in various maritime conditions.

These systems collectively contribute to data collection, processing, and dissemination, enhancing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) tasks.

The 'ASView' control system of the MAST-13 is particularly notable. This system allows for remote operation of the ASV, evident from its integration onto HMS Albion. Such features expand the operational scope and prioritize safety in varying environments.

The MAST-13 can be utilized for a range of purposes, including monitoring maritime areas, carrying out reconnaissance, and protecting naval entities.
