This marks the 182nd vessel delivered by Bollinger to the Coast Guard over a 35-year collaboration, and it is the 56th vessel in the Fast Response Cutter (FRC) series under the current contract.

The USCGC David Duren is the inaugural Fast Response Cutter to be based in Astoria, Oregon, as announced by Ben Bordelon, President and CEO of Bollinger. Astoria's Sector Columbia River, also known as "The Protectors of the Pacific Northwest," will house the vessel.

This sector plays a critical role in coastal safety, security, environmental protection, infrastructure security, mariner rescue, law enforcement, waterway maintenance, and hazard response along Oregon's coastline.

The FRC platform is highly regarded by Coast Guard officials for its significant impact on operations. With a length of 154 feet, a top speed of 28 knots, and equipped with advanced C4ISR capabilities, FRCs support a wide range of missions both domestically and internationally.

These vessels have the capability for long-range deployments, including missions as distant as the Marshall Islands, and feature a stern launch and recovery system for a 26-foot interceptor boat, enhancing their operational flexibility and effectiveness.
