Colombian Navy takes delivery of first FS-1500 frigate updated by Thales
 

Thales Group has delivered the first of the FS-1500 frigate to the Colombian Navy, after concluding renovation and modernization works as per Orion program. The Orion is a program plan to modernize the frigate FS-1500 passed by Cotecmar, which includes the installation of various modern equipment.

These equipments among other things are:
- Smart-s Mk2 radar
- SETIS combat system
- Sting-EO Mk2 naval fire control tracking system
- MIRADOR electro-optical multi-sensor surveillance, tracking and fire control system
- Vigile Radar Electronic Support Measures (RESM) system
- TERMA SKSW DL-12T decoy system
- MTU M-93 engines
- New communication systems

The delivery ceremony was attended by Colombian Navy admirals and officials of the French Procurement Agency (DGA). Also present were representatives of Thales in Colombia and the French military attache, Colonel D'Arnaud de Ternay Aviau.
