Russian Navy to Receive Project 11356M Admiral Grigorovich Frigate on March 10
 
The Russian Navy will receive the first Project 11356 firgate (NATO reporting name: Krivak V/Admiral Grigorovich) 'Admiral Grigorovich' (the type ship) on March 10, according to the press secretary of the 'Baltic Shipyard' company (the ship`s builder) Sergey Mikhailov.

"The acceptance act will be signed on the ship`s board on March 10. The flag-raising ceremony is scheduled for March 11", Mikhailov said.

On March 1, the ship proceeded to the sea. "This is the frigate`s control sortie after the completion of the factory tests. The ship`s crew and fleet introduction team will check the operationing of the ship`s systems and confirm its specific characteristics", he added.

'Admiral Grigorovich" is the type ship of the Project 11356 frigate series. The whole series is planned to be affiliated with the Black Sea fleet of the Russian Navy. 'Admiral Grigorovich' was laid down in 2010 and launched in Spring 2014. The state trial of the second Project 11356 frigate ('Admiral Essen') started in early 2016. 'Admiral Essen' is supposed to be commisioned this year.

Project 11356 frigates are intended for anti-ship and anti-submarine operations in both off-shore and ocean areas. The ships can provide air defense both individually and as a part of ship order.
Project 11356 firgates are equipped with 100mm A-190 naval gun, Kalibr-NK (SS-N-27 Sizzler) cruise missiles, Shtil/Shtil-1 (SA-N-7 Gadfly/SA-N-7C Gollum) naval surface-to-air (SAM) systems, torpedoes and one Ka-27 (Helix) helicopter (optionally). Project 11356 frigate has a draft of 3620 t, a length of 124.8 m, a maximum speed of 30 kt and a range of 4850 nm.
