The newest Project 955 'Vladimir Monomakh' (NATO reporting name: Dolgorukiy-class/Borei-class) nuclear-powered boat armed with submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SSBN) has finished the transition from the North Fleet to the Pacific Fleet and arrived at its home base, Vilyuchinsk (Kamchatka Krai), according to the press department of Russia`s Ministry of Defense (MoD).

"The underwater component of the Pacific Fleet has been reinforced by the newest Project 955 'Vladimir Monomakh' SSBN. The submarine has arrived at its home base, Vilyuchinsk, having finished the transition from the North Fleet to the Pacific one," an official spokesperson for the MoD said. The boat went alongside the pier that is a piece of the infrastructure intended for new-generation submarines, he added.

"Vladimir Monomakh" is the third Project 955 SSBN armed with the Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM). The boat was laid down in 2006 and delivered to the Russian Navy in 2014.
