US Navy Replacing Physical Ouija Board Aboard Carriers with DSIMS Touchscreen Technology

Deployable Ship ntegration Multitouch System DSIMSThe Deployable Ship Integration Multitouch System (DSIMS) was demonstrated and showcased at the SNA 2017 show.

Developped by the Office of Naval Research (ONR), DSIMS is a mobile software package that includes a digital touchscreen image of a ship’s flight deck or hangar bay. It enables aircraft handlers to use a laptop or LCD screen to adjust various configurations from anywhere on the ship. DSIMS also lets handlers plan operations before deployment and share that information with other DSIMS users.
