At PACIFIC 2017, the International Maritime Exhibition currently held in Sydney Australia, leading defense pyrotechnics company Lacroix formally announce its acquisition of Wallop Defence Systems Limited (Esterline Group) naval business assets. LACROIX is therefore extending the promotion of the SYLENA system to offer enhanced self-protection capabilities through the replacement of existing or scheduled BARRICADE and SUPERBARRICADE systems.

Wallop naval assets recent acquisition will contribute to this development by opening or developing new opportunities.

2- Is the product range from Wallop added to the Lacroix portfolio or are you discontinuing it ?
LACROIX is extending the promotion of the SYLENA system to offer enhanced self-protection capabilities through the replacement of existing or scheduled BARRICADE and SUPERBARRICADE systems.

3- The RMN LCS class Frigates was set to be fitted with Super Barricade by Wallop. Will this change ?
LACROIX cannot disclose information regarding a particular program status or a particular ongoing potential user. However, you may report that due to its “cutting edge technology” addressing 21st century naval AAW and ASW threats issues, the SYLENA decoys launcher systems from LACROIX have been selected to be fitted on more than 15 ships in 2017
PACIFIC 2017 will be a real opportunity to promote and convert to the SYLENA system the largest possible number of Wallop customers or prospects wishing to evolve to new generation system for ships survivability.

During PACIFIC 2017, the French company is showcasing for the 1st time its compact SYLENA MK2 decoy launching system, which ensures superior AAW and ASW protection of your valuable platforms.

Over the last 10 years, Lacroix's Research & Development team has developed 3 new Decoy Launching Systems to meet world navies’ requirements.
SYLENA decoy launcher range features:

- low life cycle costs
- meets specific requirements of 21st century navies
- ASW: compatibility with DCNS CANTO ® decoy.

SEACLAD countermeasures can be deployed by the SYLENA decoy launching systems manufactured by LACROIX.

LACROIX’s range of terminal effects for decoying missiles and torpedoes offers operators the highest level of interoperability and interchangeability with SEACLAD countermeasures, as well as numerous logistical advantages for a great variety of vessel types. LACROIX decoys provide modular system compatibility with evolving technology for future acquisitions.

With regard to the Royal Australian Navy program requirements (SEA 5000 Frigates program & SEA 1180 OPV project) the SYLENA MK2 system offers an array of flexible and modular solutions capable of being integrated in the ship combat systems (CMS).
