The Tuo Chiang-class corvette is a Taiwanese-designed class of fast and stealthy multi-mission corvettes built for the Republic of China (Taiwan) Navy. The ship is a catamaran design which is 60.4 meters long, 14 meters wide, and has a crew of 41 people. The ship can operate up to sea state 7 in waves up to 20–30 ft (6.1–9.1 m) high. Taiwan Security Analysis Center (TAISAC) stated that the ship features stealth technologies to help evade radar detection, a combat system that includes a distributed-architecture combat direction system known as “Taiwan Aegis" developed by the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology
In the case of the new Tuo Chiang-class stealth missile corvette, military engineers have further refined the performance and arsenal of the highly-praised first generation of ships. According to the Taiwanese Navy, the new Tuo Chiang-class ship has a maximum speed of 30 knots, displacement of 685 tonnes and an operational range of 1,800 nautical miles.
The armament of the Tuo Chiang-class corvette includes Sea Sword II missiles, Hsiung Feng II and III anti-ship missiles, one 76 mm Otobreda naval gun, one Phalanx CIWS Close)In Weapon System, 2 12.7mm heavy machine guns and two Mark 32 triple torpedo launcher.
