Euronaval Online 2020: NBC Sys from France can provide CBRN protection solutions for Naval vessels

NBC Sys a subdivision of the French company Nexter Systems presents solutions of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) collective protection systems for ships at Euronaval Online, the digital edition of Euronaval 2020, International naval defense and maritime security industry exhibition.

Chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) weapons represent what are more commonly known as weapons of mass destruction—extremely deadly weapons that can affect large populations. When these weapons don’t kill, they disable. Either way, they can affect the Navy’s ability to execute its missions and operations.

On a Navy ship, every Sailor plays a critical role. In order to fight in a chemically or biologically contaminated environment, the shipboard fighting force needs to function at its optimal level. An enemy’s purpose in using CBRN weapons against a ship is to degrade or cease ship operations.

From design to production to customer support, NBC-Sys, a subsidiary of Nexter, covers numerous technologies against Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) hazards. Its product range includes chemical and biological detection, air treatment for personal protection (gas masks, filter canisters,…etc.) or collective protection (climate control and filtration system, incorporated in vehicles or buildings), as well as decontamination (aircraft, vehicles, sensitive equipment, and persons).

Its range of products covers detection (chemical or biological), individual protection (gas masks, filtering canisters, air conditioning and filtration installed onboard vehicles or in buildings) as well as decontamination (aircraft, vehicles, sensitive equipment, and people).

The NBC Sys naval CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) protection system can be used onboard ship by introducing an over-pressurized environment into a vessel by blowing purified air, in a sufficient quantity so as to overcome dynamic air pressure being exerted on the sides due to wind speed or that of the ship, whilst maintaining the correct physiological comfort (oxygen and carbon dioxide levels and relative humidity) for long periods.

The NBC Sys naval CBRN protection solutions are already in service in the latest generation of combat ships around the world and the French navy's FREMM frigates.
