The MRSS (Multi-Role Support Ship) is a versatile transport vessel designed to fulfill various roles, including logistical deployment, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief operations.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is capable of delivering highly reliable ships with technical capabilities based on their experience with the JMSDF LST Osumi class, which has been involved in HA/DR efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake and operations in other countries.

The primary missions of the MRSS include logistical support, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, as well as territory defense. With a transportation capacity of 500 persons, the ship can accommodate a significant number of personnel during operations.

Additionally, she has the capability to carry 24 large special vehicles, which can be essential for transporting equipment, supplies, and materials in various scenarios.

To enhance its operational flexibility, the MRSS is equipped with two landing crafts, allowing for amphibious operations. These landing crafts can be utilized to transport personnel, vehicles, and supplies directly from the ship to the shore or other locations with limited port infrastructure.

Furthermore, the inclusion of two medium-sized helicopters provides additional versatility, enabling aerial support, medical evacuation, and reconnaissance capabilities.

In terms of dimensions, the MRSS has an overall length of 160 meters, a breadth of 24 meters, and a draft of 6 meters. Its speed capabilities reach 20 knots, allowing for efficient transportation and maneuverability.

The crew required to operate the vessel consists of 150 persons, who are responsible for managing the ship's systems, navigation, and carrying out various tasks associated with its missions.

Overall, the MRSS is a comprehensive multi-role support ship capable of fulfilling a wide range of functions, from logistical support and disaster relief to territory defense. Her specifications and technical capabilities make it well-suited for handling complex operations in challenging environments.
