ARES Shipyard to supply 12 Coastal Patrol Boats to Turkish Coast Guard


According to information published by ARES Shipyard on December 21, 2022, the firm has announced a new contract, signed with Central Finance & Contracts Unit (CFCU) for Coastal Patrol Boats to be deployed by the Turkish Coast Guard.

The project covers 12-off ARES 35 CPB which will serve in tasks to prevent illegal immigration and all kinds of irregular cross-border activities in all surrounding seas that are under Turkey’s maritime jurisdiction area.

A signature ceremony was held by CFCU in Ankara, with participation of ARES Shipyard’s CEO, Mr. Utku ALANC and Business Development Manager, Ms. Yagmur AKCA.

ARES has been supporting Turkish Coast Guard in prevention of illegal immigration and fight against smuggling in the territorial waters,supplying more than one hundred indigenous patrol vessels in various programs already.

About the Coast Guard Command

The Coast Guard Command is the coast guard service of Turkey. The Turkish Coast Guard is under the command of the Ministry of the Interior. However, during wartime some of its elements can be subordinated to Turkish Naval Forces by the President.

The Turkish Coast Guard is organized into four area commands: the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea.
