SEAFUTURE is considered the most relevant international event in Italy for the Blue Economy sector and the first hub in the Mediterranean Sea as it concerns all the aspects of maritime integrated policy, based on the ‘Blue Growth’, as indicated by the European Commission. The participating guests were: Deputy Chief of Staff, Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto; the President of Italian Blue Growth srl, Cristiana Pagni, and Laurence Martin, General Secretariat of ‘Federazione del Mare’.

The organizers count more than 300 companies that will show their services and products on more than 35,000 m² in the historical Naval Base of La Spezia, with the presence of 71 foreign delegations, already confirmed, 12 vessels on berth of the dock area, and about 400 m² of the outdoor booth area, 78 foreign businesses coming from France, Germany, Norwegian, Finland, Great Britain, Sweden, USA, Belgium, China, Canada and Austria.

Many actors will meet in La Spezia in order to confront their views: ‘I am very pleased to notice the present edition, in comparison to the former ones, is registering the highest number of foreign navies, represented by 28 chiefs of staff and 33 delegates – stated the Deputy of Staff of the Italian Military Navy, Deputy Chief of Staff, Admiral, Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto – A clear evidence of our intentioned work and of the attractivity of our items and of the Italian technologies that can arouse great global interest.

Simultaneously, together with the initiatives supported by the Military Italian Navy, the General Secretariat of Defence and the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports, round tables will not miss to build a consensus about the themes of the energetic transition, the circular economy, and of the welfare of the sea environment. In light of a global context, characterised by delicate balance topics like maritime safety and security, electronic warfare, cyber defence, and underwater defence, which are highly topical and of great importance because "The safety of our seas is fundamental in order to survive", as stated by Admiral Berutti Bergamotto.

SEAFUTURE is able to provide dialogue even with diverse language-speaking realities or having different points of view in order to obtain concrete answers. The event represents a unicum regarding a sustainable economy in order to consolidate the role of Italy within Mare Nostrum, in the Mediterranean Sea – in this way the President of IBG, Cristiana Pagni said during her speech – the seas need our help to guarantee a changing wave and provide our today and future’s generations with economic and environmental sustainability.

The exponential growth of the exhibition, confirmed also by the various specialized magazines of the sector represented, for example, by India, the United Arab Emirates, France, Malaysia, Belgium and Lebanon, is due to the industrial and technological imprinting that has turned it into a meeting point in order to compare, exchange know-how and planning.

Moreover, the 8th SEAFUTURE edition is characterized by some special events ranging from the art and cinema world, with a guest of great international appeal such as Giancarlo Giannini, and to information thanks to the format Fuori Onda, realized in collaboration with the Journalists’
