The two Absalon class (HDMS Absalon & Esbern Snare) Command and Support ships were designed by the Danish Navy and Odense Steel Shipyard. They were commissioned in October 2004 and April 2005 respectively. The class may be described as an hybrid between a Frigate and Military transport ship with multi role capabilities.
