Russia's first Project 11356 frigate, the Admiral Grigorovich, will join the Black Sea Fleet in 2014, Vice-Admiral Alexander Fedotenkov said on Monday. “The newest Project 11356 escort ship, the Admiral Grigorovich, should be launched in 2013 and join the Black Sea Fleet in 2014,” Fedotenkov said.

Chinese Defense ministry confirms high-sea voyage of Liaoning aircraft carrier
 
A military spokesman confirmed Thursday that China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, is set to conduct a voyage on the high seas. When and in what waters the voyage will be conducted will be decided in accordance with overall conditions, Yang Yujun, spokesman of the Ministry of National Defense, told a press conference.

Raytheon Anschütz and Seastema supply IBS to Italian Coast Guard Patrol Vessels
 
The German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz in partnership with Italian marine automation provider Seastema has been selected to deliver advanced integrated bridge and navigation system for two Italian Coast Guard military patrol vessels. The vessels are currently being built at Fincantieri’s Castellammare di Stabia (Naples) shipyard.

April 22nd at Fincantieri Muggiano (La Spezia) shipyard there was the delivery ceremony of the "Salahah" patrol vessel for the United Arab Emirates Navy. Her sister ship, the “Ghantut”, was delivered last January together with an "Abu Dhabi Class" corvette. The two patrol vessels – whose names come from an area of the Emirates near Abu Dhabi – were ordered in 2010 within the “Falaj 2” program. The contract provides for an option for a further two vessels in addition to technology transfer to a local shipyard for the construction of further sister ships.

Defence Minister Dr Jonathan Coleman says the government has approved the purchase of an upgraded and expanded Seasprite helicopter fleet for the New Zealand Defence Force. A total of eight Seasprites (plus two spare airframes) will be purchased from the United States company Kaman Aerospace in a $242 million dollar deal, which includes a training simulator, missiles, and additional components.

On April 12, 2013 in Feodosiya, representatives of the state-owned defense conglomerate "Ukroboronprom" and Chinese Navy officials signed the certificate of acceptance for the first Zubr (project 1232.2) amphibious hovercraft. On the Ukrainian side the document was signed by Dmitry Peregudov, Ukrspecexport General Director.

Raytheon delivers second Phalanx Block 1B for Australia's Air Warfare Destroyer
 
Raytheon Company delivered the second Phalanx Block 1B Close-In Weapon System for installation on Australia's newest Air Warfare Destroyer, the Brisbane. A previously awarded direct commercial sale contract calls for a total of three Phalanx mounts to be delivered to the Royal Australian Navy. The first mount was delivered in late 2012 for installation aboard the Hobart. A third system is under construction and will be installed on the Sydney in 2014.

Russia signed a 1.2-billion euro deal with a French shipyard in 2011 for two Mistral-class ships, the first of which is due for delivery in 2014 and the second in 2015.

Ford is complete following the addition of the ship's upper bow section on April 9 at Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS). The upper bow extends the overall length of the carrier to its full size, which is 1,106 feet—equal to a 75-story building lying on its side.

This flight was the last of a series of trials performed in a joint Airbus Military – MBDA collaboration to validate the aerodynamic integration of Marte on C295, its handling qualities and performance tests.
