The Russian Navy will get upgraded big antisubmarine warfare ships of project 1155. They have good running qualities, can destroy adversary submarines, but are incapable against ground targets. The problem will be resolved by the upgrade. The first warship is preparing for the handover to the Navy, the Izvestia daily writes.

Joint military training exercise Northern Edge concluded Friday after two weeks of operations with the Air Force, Marines and the Navy. For the first time in a decade, a Navy aircraft carrier was part of the training.

Dynautics has announced that it has developed a new range of Collision Avoidance (CA) systems for unmanned surface vessels (USVs). The company has several years’ experience in providing CA at multiple levels within the unmanned marine vehicle market and has previously developed an external CA interface as a standard which enables Dynautics autopilots to interact with third-party sense and avoid systems.

According to the Official Weibo account of PLA Hong Kong Garrison, the officers and sailors assigned to a Navy Ship Group under the PLA Hong Kong Garrison neatly lined up on the eastern wharf to attend a ceremony on May 23. It is the decommissioning ceremony for five ships, including No. 7593, No. 7594 and No. 7595 Landing Ships, as well as Nanjiao 85 and Nanjiao 86 Transporting Ships, which were among the first batch of ships deployed in Hong Kong.

The U.S. Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) will return for another deployment to South America, Central America, and the Caribbean mid-June to begin a five-month medical assistance mission as a result of the humanitarian crisis created by the ongoing political and economic instability in Venezuela.

Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (Midhani) have joined hands to form a consortium for building six conventional submarines under Project 75(I) as envisaged by the Ministry of Defence under the strategic partnership model.

The launching ceremony of the multipurpose amphibious unit (LHD or Landing Helicopter Dock) “Trieste” took place today at the Fincantieri shipyard in Castellammare di Stabia, in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, welcomed by Fincantieri’s Chairman Giampiero Massolo and CEO Giuseppe Bono.
