Navy Forces Naval Maritime Defense Security Industry


According to information published by Opex 360 on October 30, 2023, the French Navy's future unmanned reconnaissance helicopter, currently under development in the SDAM (Système de drone aérien pour la Marine) program, has successfully completed its first trials aboard the FREMM frigate Provence. The first ship trials took place in May 2023, but were carried out with a French civilian vessel.

On October 26, 2023, the US Department of Defense (DoD) released images of the deployment of a Maritime Tactical Systems (MARTAC) T-38 Devil Ray unmanned surface vessel (USV) in the Arabian Gulf. This USV is part of Task Force 59, a unit within the US Navy's 5th Fleet. Task Force 59 integrates unmanned systems and artificial intelligence with maritime operations in the US Navy 5th Fleet's area of operations to ensure maritime security and stability in the Middle East region.

According to information published by PGZ on October 26, 2023, contracts were formalized between Polish defense companies PIT-RADWAR and Wojskowe Zakłady Elektroniczne, under the Polish Armaments Group, and Norwegian defense entity Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KDA) for the development and delivery of two Naval Missile Units, alongside the servicing and production of NSM (Naval Strike Missile) missiles.
