According to information published by the Singapore Mindef on April 22, 2024, Senior Minister Mr. Teo Chee Hean presided over the unveiling of our fourth Invincible-class submarine RSS Inimitable in Kiel, Germany.

The Invincible class submarines have specifications that include a surfaced displacement of 2,000 tons, increasing to 2,200 tons when submerged. Their dimensions include a length of 70 meters and a beam of 6.3 meters. Their propulsion system combines diesel-electric and air-independent propulsion (AIP), supported by two 120 kW PEM fuel cells.
In terms of performance, these submarines can reach speeds of 10 knots surfaced and 20 knots submerged. They are designed for extended underwater endurance of 28 to 42 days without the need for surfacing.
Crew requirements for these submarines are set at 28 personnel. Their technological equipment includes a Combat Management System co-developed by Atlas Elektronik and ST Electronics, complemented by DSTA-developed decision support systems that analyze data to assist in operational decisions. Armaments consist of six 533 mm torpedo tubes and four 650 mm missile tubes, capable of deploying heavyweight torpedoes, anti-ship missiles, and naval mines
