According to information published by Defence Express on August 21, 2023, Ukraine has been actively deploying Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) equipped with advanced weaponry against Russian occupying forces, targeting both infrastructure and enemy vessels. One of the significant enhancements to these USVs is the integration of the "Shmel-M" rocket flamethrowers.

According to a PR published by HII on August 18, 2023, in a move to enhance their underwater exploration and mapping capabilities, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has contracted HII for the provision of two REMUS 620 unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs). The manufacturing process, is set to culminate in 2024.

According to information published by the Ukrainian government on August 16, 2023, Ukraine's Unmanned surface vehicles, which successfully targeted the Crimean Bridge as well as the Russian landing ship "Olenegorsky Miner" and the tanker "SIG", were developed in-house by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
